TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

CHEMISTRY. First of all, i want to be honest that career as a teacher was not my first choice because i want to further my studies in pharmacy. Even though teaching was my second choice, it does not effect anything as long as i always in chemistry environment. That shows how i am in love with chemistry since secondary school and i want my students to feel that too.

As i want to improve my teaching career, my philosophy teaching has been greatly influenced by my previous teachers and fellow friends. They have influenced my teaching philosophy because they developed strong pedagogies with the knowledge to support it, they have set high academic standards for students and for themselves, they have respected intellectual diversity inside and outside the classroom and they built trust among the students. As i experienced this in secondary school, i want to improve more so that my students will experienced the same as mine when they are with me in the future.

My management system philosophy is created from these ideas which are divided into six areas

  1. A positives learning environment
  2. Clear expectations, standard and goals
  3. Differentiated instruction through modification
  4. Ongoing assessment
  5. Self-improvement through lifelong learning
  6. Presenting a variety of learning materials to all students

It is necessary for the students to have opportunities that encourage them to step out of their comfort zones while understanding that is all right to make mistakes as long as they have tried with their my best. With the guidance, making a mistake can become an exceptional learning experience for the student. Rather than memorizing what to do or not to do, they have the chance to see first hand why their choice did not work out as expected. In a visual field, it is my belief that this enhances the quality of their education when followed up with the discussion that includes recognition of mistakes made and suggestions for future solutions.
